On January 5th, 2009, we started feeding RECAL PLUS because our corn silage had tested 6000 ppb of Vomitoxin and we were having more problems with breeding and herd health than normal. We had been feeding Omnigen as a toxin control product up until that time.
Since then, our conception rate has improved from an average of 35% in September, October, November and December to over 40% average in January, February, March and April. Also our pregnancy rate has averaged 25.8% for these four months. Our somatic cell count has dropped from 265,000 in December to less than 215,000 currently and is now lower than any time in the past 5 years. Dead cows for these past four months have been reduced by 35%. We don’t get as many sick cows and our sick cows don’t require as much treatment.
